Flush Pull Handles for Sliding Doors

Flush pull handles are recessed into the face of a sliding or pocket door. Because they sit level with or close to the door surface, they allow the door to move without a projecting lever or knob catching against the wall or pocket opening.

The collection includes round, square and rectangular designs, ranging from plain contemporary profiles to reeded and Art Deco patterns. Before ordering, check the handle depth, overall dimensions and mortice requirements against the thickness and construction of your door.

Pocket Door Edge Pulls

An edge pull fits into the closing edge of a pocket door. When the door is fully recessed, the pull provides a discreet grip that allows it to be drawn back out of the wall pocket.

Edge pulls are available in round-finger, retractable and rectangular designs. Check that there is sufficient timber within the door edge to accommodate the required recess without weakening the door.

Sliding Door Privacy Locks

Sliding-door privacy sets are designed for bathrooms, en-suites, bedrooms and other internal rooms where privacy is required. Many use a hook-shaped lock bolt that engages with a striker on the frame, together with a recessed thumbturn on one face of the door.

Selected sets include an emergency release on the opposite face. Confirm exactly which components are supplied before ordering, as a flush pull, edge pull, lock case and privacy controls may be sold separately or together depending on the product.

These locks provide privacy rather than certified external-door security and should not be used as the primary security lock for an entrance door.

Sliding Door Hardware Kit

The Sliding Door Hardware Kit is a black, barn-door-style system for wall-mounted internal sliding doors. It is available with either top-mounted or front-mounted hangers and in 2-metre or 3-metre lengths.

Current product specifications include:

  • Suitable for internal timber doors
  • Maximum door weight of 100kg
  • Door thickness range of 36–46mm
  • Minimum door width of 500mm, or 750mm for the 3m top-mount option
  • Maximum door width of 1000mm with the 2m kit
  • Maximum door width of 1500mm with the 3m kit
  • Black finish with the necessary kit fixings supplied

Confirm the current dimensions and contents on the individual listing before ordering. The wall structure must be capable of supporting the combined weight of the track system and door.

Sliding Door Hanging Set

The Sliding Door Hanging Set is used with the Sliding Door Hardware Kit to hang a second door on an existing compatible track. It is not a complete track system and should not be ordered as a standalone replacement for the main hardware kit.

The current Hanging Set specification includes:

  • Black barn-door-style hangers
  • Suitable for internal doors
  • Minimum door width of 500mm
  • Maximum door width of 1000mm
  • Maximum door weight of 80kg
  • Necessary fixing components supplied

Check compatibility with the main track and confirm the total supported weight before planning a two-door installation.

Wall-Mounted Sliding Doors or Pocket Doors?

A wall-mounted sliding door travels along a visible track in front of the wall. This is the type of installation supported by the current Sliding Door Hardware Kit.

A pocket door slides into a concealed cassette or framed cavity inside the wall. This collection contains handles, edge pulls and locks that may be used with a suitable pocket door, but Suffolk Latch Company no longer supplies the cassette system itself. The compatible pocket-door structure and running gear will therefore need to be sourced separately.

Choosing the Correct Sliding Door Hardware

Before ordering, check:

  • Whether the door is wall-mounted or recessed into a pocket
  • The door’s width, thickness and weight
  • The available wall space beside the opening
  • Whether the supporting wall can carry the combined load
  • The projection of skirting boards, architraves and switches
  • The mortice depth required for recessed handles and locks
  • Whether a privacy function or emergency release is required
  • Which components and fixings are included with each product

Door weight limits should never be exceeded. If the construction or strength of the wall is uncertain, seek advice from an experienced joiner or installer before purchasing the system.

Sliding Door Finishes and Styles

Flush pulls, edge pulls and privacy fittings are available in finishes including:

  • Aged, antique, polished and satin brass
  • Aged, matt and polished bronze
  • Matt black and black
  • Polished chrome and satin chrome
  • Polished nickel and satin nickel
  • Pewter and selected stainless-steel finishes

For the closest colour match, choose handles, edge pulls and privacy fittings from the same coordinated product range. Finish names and tones can vary between manufacturers.

Installation and Door Preparation

Recessed pulls and edge fittings usually require precise morticing into the door. Privacy locks also require accurate alignment between the door, hook bolt and frame-mounted strike.

Installation should be planned before the door is finished or hung. Check the product drawings carefully and confirm that the door contains enough solid material for every recess and fixing point.

For the wall-mounted track kit, the supporting structure—not only the plasterboard or surface finish—must be capable of carrying the full operational load. Suitable reinforcement may be required.
